Affiliated Ministry: Cru

College was the best four years of Brittany’s life! It was a time for her to explore different beliefs and religions and to discover what she truly believed in. Growing up in South Carolina, it was easy to go along with what everyone else believed, but it wasn’t until college when she learned about a personal relationship with God through Jesus. College is when she started walking closely with God, reading the Bible, and living life in intentional Christian community through Cru. Brittany has now lived in NYC for 6 years and she really enjoy rock climbing, pottery, and traveling!

In 2004, Randy and Selene moved to New York City in pursuit of their college degrees. Selene came to New York from Pennsylvania to study Acting at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy where she came to Christ through a rehearsal. Selene ended up graduating from The New School where God called her to be a campus minister to this day!

Randy came from the Philippines to study Pharmacy at St. John’s University where he became involved in campus ministry for six years. This experience has built his foundation in the Lord and planted the desire in him to see college campuses be a place where God reigns. As a result, he was enabled to be a light for Jesus during his eight years of working as a Pharmacist by day and serving as a voluntary campus missionary by night.

Randy & Selene are currently living in Harlem with two spunky kids and ministering to college students in the influential city of New York! They are not only changing their lives for Jesus but we also have the opportunity to positively influence their families, careers, and the culture of our society. Sam Gryzwa

Email: sam.gryzwa@cru.org

Affiliated Ministry: Cru

Sam was born in Wisconsin and experienced Christianity through family and at church from a young age. However, for most of his life ‘religion’ just meant a moral system of rules. He was a 'good kid' but lived a serious double life, and he came into college as a nominal Christian totally focused on himself. His freshmen year a number of senior students involved with Cru befriended him, and their genuine love, care, and passion for Jesus had a transformational impact on his understanding of God. He began to cultivate a real, active relationship with Jesus on his own for the first time; it completely changed his life. Soon, God began to give him a passion to reach other students like himself with the Gospel. He never looked back! He spent his first year out of college as a missionary overseas, and in the years since it led him to give his life toward helping students everywhere fall in love with Jesus and learn to follow God for a lifetime. He loves New York City, plays cello & piano, writes music, reads books, adventures with his wife & 12-week-old son, and eats a good burger as often as he can (..which, if he’s honest? ..is too often).
